Although predominantly intended for converting video formats, MiniTool VideoConverter’s most significant new feature is its screen-recorder tool (click the Screen Record tab on the main menu). You can set it to capture your entire desktop or a specific region, and the recording will include audio from your PC and microphone (you can mute these by clicking their icons). Click the cog icon (top right) to adjust more settings, including the video quality, and to add animations when you click a mouse button, which is particularly useful when creating instructional videos. Our only complaint is that, by default, the tool sends data back to the developer about how you use it – avoid this by clicking Custom Installation when installing, then unticking the ‘Agreetoparticipate…’ box.
